Never say never say never say I wish

Sarah went back to her life in the above ground, and it was... Boring, actually.

Oh Hoggle and Sir Didymus and Ludo all came by to visit now and then. The Firey even came by at one point too to try and get her head one more time. Ludo chased them off before they could break too many things in her room. But even still, it was quiet.

She never asked any of them about the King, though every now and then over the years Hoggle would edge around the subject, or Sir Didymus would ask for her to come visit the kingdom. She would change the subject, but she changed the subject less and less quickly each time.

Alone in her room, her friends back on the other side of the mirror for the night. And before she even really thought about it the words started coming out, "I miss... I wish-" she cut herself off with a shake of her head and started to walk towards her bed. The sent of jasmine and leather stopped her in her tracks.

"Oh, do go on." Said an amused voice. A male voice.

"Goblin King?" And in what felt like slow motion she looked over her shoulder and leaning one hip against the dresser stood a man that she could pretend to ignore but never forget. "I, ...oh..." Sarah turned all the way round. The litany of things she had always told herself she would say to him if he ever cropped up evaporated for the moment.

His lips turned up in that smirk that always gave her that rush of mixed emotions, and walked up to her slowly giving her time to move away or stop him. She did neither.

He leaned forward and tilted her face up with his riding crop, "Did you miss me?"
